Students were joined by Tracey Grinter from the Australian Trauma Support Centre (ATSC) at lunch time today, as she ran an informative (and fun!) self-defence session.

TodayƵs introductory session focussed on learning push/pull bases and a range of grip breaks to help escape unwanted situations.

The trainingƵboth through physical techniques and situational awarenessƵaims to decrease fear and anxiety and increase confidence, self-efficacy, and self-esteem.

ƵTrust your instincts,Ƶ says Tracey. ƵIf you get a gut feeling that something isnƵt right, get out of there.Ƶ

ATSC offers a range of program and services to support overall wellbeing, including WomenƵs only Self Defence and Situational Awareness training.

A huge thanks to Tracey for giving up her time and sharing her expertise with the group today. Students can stay tuned for more lunchtime activities that will be held at Ƶ this year.
